Check out highlights from MDR's participation in the Annenberg Alchemy's Leadership Seminar!

In Spring 2012, Mother's Day Radio was honored and proud to take part in Annenberg Alchemy's Leadership Seminar! Board members Kelley Purcell, Joshua Silverstein and Shaunelle Curry (ED) participated in a 3 day intensive series covering board development and capacity building. They were also honored to be accepted into Annenberg Alchemy's 1st Things 1st Bootcamp with Tom Iselin, where they delved deeper into these concepts.

MDR's team enjoyed the highly interactive training sessions. Shaunelle presented her 3-minute pitch, Kelley sang an inspirational song, and Joshua offset his speech with a beatbox performance.  They won the acknowledgement of the Annenberg Team and their peers.

Annenberg Foundation Executive Director Leonard Aube exclaimed, "Shaunelle is a superstar. Did you hear her? Well, you're probably wondering about why she's able to do that. It represents and reflects an incredible investment in time and energy on her part to do what she did."

In their final presentation for Tom Iselin's bootcamp, MDR won The Most Humorous Presentation Award as voted by their peers!

"What an amazing experience!" said MDR's Chief Executive, Shaunelle Curry. "Annenberg Alchemy provides a rich store of information, then teaches the tools and provides the resources to apply that information to the organization effectively.  Not only did we learn a great deal, but we applied the principles as we learned them to set a solid foundation for governance and growth right at the beginning of our board development stage!"
