Tired of listening to songs on the radio that contain degrading lyrics?
Tired of listening to songs on the radio that contain degrading lyrics? MDR is giving you the opportunity of creating your own playlist that is free of violence!
Contest Rules
Eligibility: The contest is open to high school and middle school students.
Submission Requirements:
· Playlist must be an original collection of songs created by you.
· Songs should be appropriate and respectful; NO offensive, violent or sexually explicit language.
· Playlist should contain a minimum of three “unknown”/non-mainstream artist.
· Clearly indicate the title of each track and the artist.
· These artists should have a CD/EP or a download that is accessible.
· The playlist should contain a total of twelve 12 songs with 4 songs from each of the following categories:
1. Pop/Rock
2. Hip-Hop/Reggae-ton
3. R&B/Contemporary Latin
Submissions:
· Post your playlist in the “Discussion Forum” on the Playlist Contest Group.
· Also choose one song and tell us in 3 to 5 sentences why you chose that song.
· Limit of one (1) submission per person.
Entry Period: ends September 8, 2012 at 11:59pm.
Online Voting: ends on September 13, 2012 at 11:59pm
Determination of Grand Prize Winner:
· All submissions will be reviewed for content eligibility in accordance with the Contest Rules before being judged. The Playlist that contains inappropriate content will be disqualified.
· The winner will also be determined based on the originality and quality of the playlist.
· Winners will be announced on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at MDR’s "Meet & Mingle" event at Los Angeles SpeedZone.
Grand Prize:
· There will be a total of two grand prize winners.
· In the event of a tie, the winner will be selected based on originality and quality.
· Grand prize winners will be awarded a $50 Play Card for L.A Speedzone!
· The first winner will be chosen by a panel of artist.
· The second winner will be determined by the number of “Likes".
Voting on Ning: You may vote for a submission once during the voting period by “Like”-ing your favorite playlist.
